A game notable more for the journey home than the match itself! Sports visited Sittingbourne's massive Central Park Stadium for this FA Cup tie. The Brickies were then in the Dr Martens Premier Division, and Langney were subjected to "Sunday League" jibes from home supporters - oh, how we enjoyed getting our revenge when the two clubs later met in a League match a few years later!
Sports never really played to their potential in the 1st half and went in two goals down, one from a dubious penalty decision. Paul Stevens pulled one back in the 2nd half but it was too late. The programme states the referee was a Mr J Ross of Chingford, but I'm convinced it was Uriah Rennie.
