With Leatherhead having thrashed Sports 8-3 the previous time they had visited Priory Lane in 1993, hopes of an upset weren't too high on this occasion, particularly as The Tanners had won promotion to ICIS (Isthmian) Division 1 the previous season. When Nigel Webb put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot early in the second half, it looked as though history would repeat itself. However, a superb 40 yard equaliser from Simon Kibler, and a penalty from Syd Harman sent the majority of the 270-strong crowd home happy.
